Two tracks respond to the same incident. “Digital arrest” is a scam. No police, CBI, ED, customs or court in India arrests anyone over a video call or asks for money to “verify” your accounts. Hang up and do not pay. If you have already paid, call the national cyber crime helpline 1930 immediately and report on cybercrime.gov.in. Members can message us on WhatsApp — our lawyers check whether any genuine notice exists and file the complaint, while our ethical hackers check the phone and accounts.

Warning signs include unknown apps, unusual battery or data use, settings changing on their own, and calls being silently forwarded. A reliable check needs forensics — our ethical hackers examine Android and iPhone devices with MVT (the Mobile Verification Toolkit) and published spyware indicators, covering both commercial spyware and common stalkerware.

For financial fraud, call 1930 at once — the first hours matter for holding money in transit. Then file on the National Cyber Crime Reporting Portal (cybercrime.gov.in), keep the acknowledgement number, notify your bank or UPI app in writing, and preserve every screenshot, SMS and transaction ID.
